Why I can’t stand “Meet Me in St Louis” starring Judy Garland
Lemonade ladies promenade
With parasols and girdles staid
Every suitor, searched assayed
The utmost caution is conveyed
And who will we have for dinner
Spare us the besotted sinner
Grant us a young wiz and winner
A thing that shines when lights grow dimmer
We’ll have a big and heavy roast
Made by a maid from the African coast
And we’ll brag and lie and surely boast
Ensnaring a groom is uppermost
And when we’re tired we’ll recline
And say McKinley’s quite divine
Dream of being a concubine
While all we do is carp and whine
